About Ratul

Ratul started to learn music since his childhood. His mother Late Namita Chanda Roy was a teacher and a musician. His father Late Pratap Chanda Roy was a painter and also associated with play direction and acting. Ratul was taught music from his aunt Smt Basanti Roy and uncle Sri Arup Chanda Roy (student of renowned singer Sri Subinay Roy.)
Music is not only his profession but also a lifetime shelter. He lives in music. The visitors here will get all the informations about Ratul Chanda Roy.

Notable Achievements

Stood first twice in Rabindra Sangeet competition organized by West Bengal Government.

Stood first in Annual Rabindra Sangeet competition organized by Akash Bani (1993).

Used to perform regularly in music program aired in TV channels.

Worked as a voice artist in Jiban Smriti (the documentary film on Rabindranath Tagore directed by Rituparno Ghosh.

Released album: Madhuri Utsab-e. (Background music by Late Kalika Prasad Bhattacharya.)

Ratul is also interested in writing poems apart from music. Since 90s his poems has been published in magazines like Desh etc. Three collection of poetry has been published so long. Ratul is associated with a notable magazine named Batighar as the editor. He loves Painting and Photography also.
